welcome to
Vocal Vista
At Vocal Vista, I believe that every person has a voice — and that voice deserves to be heard.
Vocal Vista was created as a space where communication, connection, and possibility come together. I support non-speaking, minimally-speaking, and unreliably-speaking autistics, as well as individuals with diverse abilities, to express their thoughts and ideas through Spelling to Communicate (S2C) — an approach that fosters trust, co-regulation, and purposeful movement.
Each session is designed to honour the individuality and brilliance of every speller, creating an environment where communication can flourish.
At its heart, Vocal Vista represents a clear view — a vista — into each person’s true voice, intelligence, and potential. It’s about opening doors to expression, understanding, and belonging — one letter at a time
amplifying voices, fostering inclusion.

SPELLING 2 communicate
Vocal Vista is proud to be the first Spelling to Communicate (S2C) program, based in Kamloops, British Columbia, Western Canada.
Led by Brittney Ritchie, a passionate and certified S2C practitioner, dedicated to providing a voice to autistic non-speakers and individuals with diverse abilities.

Brittney RITCHIE
Hey friends, I’m so glad you’re here! 🌿
I’m Brittney Ritchie, the owner of Vocal Vista and an I-ASC Certified Spelling to Communicate (S2C) Practitioner. With over eight years of experience as a Supported Employment Counsellor at SMART Options, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting neurodiverse individuals and those with diverse abilities in discovering their strengths, building confidence, and creating meaningful lives.
My journey into S2C began when I met my dear friend Luke (thisisluke.ca), a 20-year-old autistic non-speaker with apraxia. Witnessing the moment he used a letterboard to share his thoughts and connect with others was truly life-changing. His courage and insight completely reshaped how I view communication and human potential — and continue to inspire me every single day.
Grounded in optimism, connection, and the belief that communication can transform lives, I created Vocal Vista as a space for possibility — where communication grows into connection, and connection leads to empowerment. The name Vocal Vista reflects a clear view into each person’s true voice, intelligence, and potential. At its heart, it’s a place where expression, understanding, and belonging can truly flourish.
Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and will never skip out on a good dance party. I’m an extrovert with plenty of introverted tendencies — I recharge by enjoying quiet moments and alone time, too. My world revolves around my family — my two daughters, Lenny and Alby, my husband Jimmy, and our German Shepherd, Olive — who fill my days with laughter, chaos, and love.
Let’s connect and explore how S2C can support you or your loved ones in unlocking their full potential!
